How the social determinants of mental health relate to neuropsychiatric disorders, and what we can do about them in clinical practice
Saturday 21 May | 3:00 – 4:00 PM CT | Product Showcase #2 (Booth 3414)

“The social determinants of health are the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes”.1 Social determinants of mental health can include discrimination, social isolation, and stigma.2 In this interactive symposium, Michael Compton, Cynthia Armand, and Craig Chepke will discuss why the social determinants of mental health are relevant to neuropsychiatric disorders, including TD. They will also outline how clinicians can tackle the healthcare barriers faced by patients, and how the mental health consequences of neuropsychiatric disorders can be addressed.
